Excel Wiki is a community-based resource that allows readers to create, edit and update articles related to Microsoft© Excel spreadsheets. This is a brand new website with few pages to-date. Your contributions to making this a truly comprehensive Excel knowledge base are appreciated and encouraged.

Feel free to add your own Excel spreadsheet related contribution (or favorite Excel links) or add to another's contribution. Authors may sign (and get credit for) their contributions and link to their own 'profile' page.

Wiki and wiki, what is wiki?

Wiki pages look like normal web pages but have "Edit" buttons that give visitors the scary ability to edit existing pages and to create new pages and new topics. Creating a new page is as simple as adding a link in an existing page. Basic editing commands are listed on each "edit" page.

This is currently an 'open' wiki. Editors must provide an Author Name but registration is not necessary. Registration is required to upload and attach image and .xls files to posts.

With editoral rights also comes responsibility and the openess of wikis does make them susceptible to abuse and spam. However, I do still believe in the Golden Rule and, failing that, Newton's Third Law.

If the site looks familiar it is because it is using a variation of the default Mediawiki (Wikipedia.com) skin. The Excel Wiki site is powered by Pmwiki which allows copying of spreadsheet ranges into the wiki and , IMHO, has better content control features (if needed).
